About the Company

Collective Marketing is an Edmonton-based social media and marketing agency that specializes in content-based marketing approaches to elevate brand stories to reach audiences.

We work (collectively) with local creators such as photographers, videographers, public relations firms, event planners, and influencers to create content that tells your story to your audience.

We have collectively over 25 years of social media and marketing experience in Northern Alberta and have an understanding of how businesses can reach their audience on social media and bring value to their customers.

Meet the Team

Nicola Doherty

Founder and Principal.

Nicola has been working in marketing and social media for almost 10 years primarily in social media and influencer relations. Nicola’s past clients include Rocky Mountain Soap Company (all social media and influencer relations), Alberta Open Farm Days (Marketing Co-Ordinator - everything from press releases, social media, website updates, community relations, and events), Fort Edmonton Foundation (everything marketing and communications) Bangel PR (social media strategy and content creation for their clients), and writing social media strategies for organizations such as Fort McMurray Airport, .

In her free time, Nicola loves to travel, travel, travel, travel, and check Instagram and TikTok.

Leigh Ann Smith

Leigh Ann Smith's career in marketing and social media extends over 15 years. A graduate of the University of Lethbridge Bachelor of Management Program she has been fortunate to work in a variety of industries and communities in her career. She has worked on developing marketing strategies, brand management, and developing and supporting social media for both large and small businesses.

Leigh Ann was fortunate to live and work in Fort McMurray from 2011 to 2017. She worked with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo in Economic Development for almost three years. There she worked closely with all levels of government, regional organizations, and businesses when it came to economic development, regional marketing and tourism. She was heavily involved in the support and programming when it came to the re-entry and re-opening of businesses following the Fort McMurray fires in 2016.

Although she no longer lives there, Leigh Ann continues to work with and support local businesses and organizations in Fort McMurray with her social media management business in St. Albert. She is fortunate to work with a variety of Marketing and Public Relations firms that service St. Albert and Edmonton businesses. From dentists, home developers and real estate to food services, venues and not- for-profit organizations. She works to build and manage social media content, as well she provides support with engagement and growth performance.

If you don't find her behind her computer working she is usually taking her family to local gems and every farmer's market she can find. She is a mum to two amazing kiddos and in her spare time, she likes to pretend she has a cooking show on her Instagram account.

Neither Nicola nor Leigh Ann are from Edmonton. If we had to count the places they’ve both lived, it would be a lot. Both lived in Fort McMurray for a time, but their paths never overlapped.
